HOW SISTERCRAFT BEGAN

As sisters, Georgia and Diane had their differences, but learned to work together and bring out each other’s strengths. Now they are not only sisters but best friends. The bond they share is unbreakable, knowing each other as well as they know themselves, and sometimes better.

While growing up, they were taught crochet, knit, and embroidery. As the years passed, they acquired new interests and skills, trying anything that looked interesting or fun. From the old skills of crochet and knit to t-shirt design and counted cross-stitch, there was not many arts and crafts they had not tried.

For several years, the two sisters spent their free weekends together sitting in the living room creating gifts, talking, laughing, and sometimes even crying. To this day, they still joke about growing old sitting on the porch in rocking chairs crocheting. SisterCraft was born on one of these weekends. When you run out of friends and family to give your creations to, what do you do with your abundance of ideas and things you’ve made?

Georgia and Diane, through SisterCraft, have decided to share their love of crafts with others in whatever way they can. The satisfaction of creating something special combined with the happiness it brings to others drives them to stretch their imaginations and keep stitching. Everything the sisters make is not only stitched with skill, it is stitched with love.

A NOTE FROM THE OWNERS

GEORGIA WEISENBECK:  One thing that has always brought me a sense of joy has been the privilege of creating things for others. Thank you for the opportunity to express that joy by making something for you.

DIANE STRAIN:  Thanks for visiting our web-site. SisterCraft is a vision I think we have both had for a long time. I'm very excited about sharing my creations with others. I have many ideas for new projects, and they will be added as they are created.
